Abstract
Interprofessional Education (IPE) is essential for all healthcare professionals to provide quality and effective treatment to patients (Kester, 2018). This study aims to analyze and document the importance of IPE to speech-language pathology students and professionals by licensing and certification bodies. The study examined the fifty speech-language pathology licensing bodies in the United States of America. It also examined the National American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's emphasis and requirements on IPE and licensure requirements. The study hypothesizes that although the importance of IPE is increasing in higher education institutes and among speech language pathology students, the state licensing and national certification bodies should require speech language pathology professionals to educate themselves on the importance of IPE. The results and conclusion of the study will aid in understanding the current licensure and education requirements on IPE.
