Abstract
The AIDs Crisis was a pivotal moment in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and history. There were significant strides made in regard to treatments, legislation, and social stigma. GMHC, a nonprofit AIDs service organization, was the crux of support in New York City. This research examined the history of AIDs and GMHC, highlighting the epidemiology, policy, treatments, and structural changes at GMHC. While these dates and events are documented on the internet, there is not a concise and interactive timeline where these dates are easily accessible to all. Using Knightlab Timeline JS, nearly 100 dates were gathered to create a timeline where major events are recorded, as well as corresponding media of the events. With this timeline, individuals can access the history of AIDs and GMHC in one place. The research demonstrates not only how politics and healthcare responded to this health crisis, but also the progression of support revolving around AIDs.
