Information for Parents

Parents Association

The Parents Association aims to work with the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to build co-operation between home and school and to promote the interests of the students in the school. It promotes the involvement of parents in the operation of the school in consultation with the Principal. In Ballyhass NS we are very lucky to have an active and hard working Parents Association. They support us in organising fundraising activities for the school and in helping to organise and supervise extra-curricular activities.

In Ballyhass NS we follow the curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education. The subjects are English, Irish, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Music, Art, Drama, S.P.H.E. and Physical Education.

Opening Times

School starts at 9.10am.

Closing 2.50pm and 1.50pm for infants.

When dropping or collecting your child to and from school, please park properly on the school side of the road. The area in front of the main school gate must be kept free at all times for the school bus.

We encourage children to bring healthy lunches and we discourage fizzy drinks, sticky bars, sweets and crisps. Please do not give your child any glass bottles. As part of our healthy eating policy, we encourage children to drink water during class times. Children may bring bottles of water to school.

If your child is absent from school, please provide us with a note in the absence section of their school diary giving reason for absence.
