We settled well into 5th class in September. We worked on being independent and using our initiative in the senior classes. We also discussed that everyone's best in 5th class is different but we will all try our own best this year. We are getting to know our new teacher Mrs. Hickey. We are looking forward to a good year.
Our Class Motto:
'Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard.'
We had a busy October in 5th class. Give a look at some photos below. A picture paints a thousand words.
Our local author, Kieran Crowley visited.
We visited Scoil Mhuire. We had a lovely day and got alot of information about the school.
We had great fun on the day of our Hallow'een holidays. We all dressed up and we went on a spooky walk.
Ms. O' Reilly joined our class and completed her Teaching Practice with us. We learned lots of interesting things from her. We learned lots of crafts and we really enjoyed them. We learned how to weave and we also learned how to make a teddy bear. She finished up on the 19th of November. Thank You Ms. O' Reilly for a really enjoyable few weeks.
We really enjoyed Science week. We did loads of experiments and had good fun doing them.
We also started swimming this month. We are going to Mallow Swimming Pool every Thursday. We are all making good progress.
December was another busy month but we had lots of time for fun activities too. Take a look at what we did.
We made Christmas stars out of skewers and celotape.
Take a look at photos from January.
We studied the Renaissance in History. We learned about Michelangelo. We tried to paint on our backs just like he did when painting the Sistine Chapel. We thought it was hard work but had fun doing it. We needed a rest after that so we did some mindfulness.
We wrote positive quotes on labels which will be attached to these mugs. We enjoyed decorating them and hope that the elderly people in the community will enjoy them too.
We wore black and amber on Friday 28th January to support Ms. O' Sullivan who was playing in the All Ireland Club Final.
