Cork City Sports

Pupils from Senior Infants to 6th class took part in Cork City Sports. We came home with lots of trophies. Well done to all who took part!!

Senior School Tour to Ballyhass Lakes

The children from 3rd to 6th class had a great day at Ballyhass Lakes on the 31st of May. They took part in lots of different activities such as zip lining, the Aqua Park, Team Building activities and Jacob's Ladder.

Mallow Primary Schools Gala 2019

Some of our boys and girls recently attended the Mallow Primary Schools Swimming Gala. A great time was had by all and all competitors received a free swim voucher for competing. They swam in the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and relay competition and did the school proud.

New Ballyhass NS Jerseys

We would like to thank Castlemagner GAA club for their very kind donation of a new set of jerseys for the school.Alan Morrissey, a past pupil and current chairman of Castlemagner GAA club,presented them to Mrs Ronayne on Thursday,May 2nd.Everyone is delighted with the design and the players can`t wait to wear them in the upcoming Duhallow Schools final against Newmarket on May 17th.The school will get fantastic use out of the jerseys for many years to come.

Ballyhass NS Boys Reach the Football Final

May 17th is a big day for the boys football team.We will be playing Newmarket in the Duhallow Schools 15 a side football final.We are going for an unprecedented 3 in a row at this grade. Ballyhass has never achieved this feat before. Newmarket are an excellent team and we will need to be at our very best to overcome them.To get to the final we had to overcome Boherbue, Kanturk and Millstreet. Fingers crossed, luck will be on our side on the big day.

Open Night in Ballyhass N.S.

We had a great open night on the 13th of March for the children starting school next school year. It was very well attended.The children from 5th and 6th classes brought the parents on a guided tour of the school. The Parents' Association provided teas and refreshments on the night. The children from 5th class played music and the crowd were very appreciative. We look forward to meeting them and working with the parents next school year .

Peter Gunning's Visit

The author Peter Gunning visited the school in February. He spoke to the 3rd and 4th class about his book Stanley and spoke to 5th and 6th class about his book Reaching the Heights. He gave an inspirational talk about his life and about how he started writing. The children were in awe of him and asked wonderful questions. He spoke of how respectful and motivated the children of Ballyhass were.

Cooking All Stars

Mrs O' Sullivan's 4th and 5th class are taking part in Cooking All Stars organised by Super Valu. As part of this initiative the school was given cooking equipment by Super Valu. They have cooked scrambled eggs and cheesy quesadillas and really enjoyed making and eating their foods.

Grandparents' Day

Grandparents' Day was recently celebrated in school. Many grandparents visited the school and enjoyed the prayer service and tea and coffee in the hall.
