Activities
Sport
As an active school sport is very important to us.
We attend swimming lessons in Mallow Swimming Pool in the first term.
All classes are involved in football and hurling and a local trainer comes to train the younger classes. GAA training is held after school for the senior classes.
The senior classes attend spike ball competitions and play tag rugby.
Pupils also participate in gymnastics, athletics, dance and Kangoo Jumps during the year.
We also part take in Cork City Sports each year.
Music
Our music teacher John Byrne visits the school weekly. He teaches a range of instruments from 1st to 6th class.
Green School
We are a Green school and are very proud of the hard work of our committee, pupils, staff and parents in this area. We are currently working towards obtaining our fifth green flag.
Health Promoting School
We have been awarded as a Health Promoting School. We encourage healthy eating and lifestyles.
Junior Entrepreneur Programme
Every second year our senior class take part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. Running over a 12 to 16 week period during the school year, JEP nurtures creativity, independence and problem-solving among pupils of all abilities, with every aspect of the Programme seamlessly blending into the primary school curriculum.
Information Technology
Each classroom is equipped with laptops and an interactive whiteboard.
iPads
We also have a store of iPads and Chrome Books that are shared among the classes.
