Coláiste Treasa East High School Musical
On Thursday the 5th of March the children and staff from 2nd to 6th class enjoyed Coláiste Treasa's performance of East High School Musical. The singing and dancing were outstanding and we were delighted to see so many past pupils on the stage. A huge thank you to Coláiste Treasa for inviting us and to the transition year students for entertaining us so well.
Confirmation
We would like to congratulate the children from 5th and 6th class on receiving their Confirmation on Wednesday the 4th of March. Bishop Crean was very impressed with the Confirmation class and really enjoyed the beautiful singing of the choir. He praised all of the talented musicians that we have in Ballyhass NS for their wonderful instrumental piece and their solo singing. A great day was had by all. We would like to thank all of the teachers and staff involved and Fr Bluitt for guiding us through the Confirmation sacrament.
Grandparent's Day
The Junior and Senior Infants really enjoyed bringing their Grandparents to our school. We held our grandparents day on 27th January during Catholic Schools' Week. It was lovely for them to see our school and join in a service to celebrate them. The Junior Infants sang 'You Are My Sunshine' for all the grandparents and the Senior Infants had a really nice poem all about Grandparents. The boys and girls then got to have tea and cake with all the grandparents that came to visit us.
Fr Dorgan's Visit
We had a lovely visit from Fr Dorgan on Monday the 13th of January. It was great to welcome him back to the school and he spoke so interestingly to all of the children and staff about his childhood near his new posting in Ballycotton. He really enjoyed the song the children sang 'You've Got a Friend in Me' and the lovely instrumental piece played by a group from the senior classes. One of the 6th class students finished off his visit by reading a wonderful poem written about Fr Dorgan.
