As senior year begins for the Class of 2020, students are starting to reflect back on their past three years at Badin and their last year here.
Senior, Katie Ropka, is no exception. When asked what the most stressful part of her senior year so far was, Katie said, “Common app, applications, letters of recommendation, and college essays. It’s a lot of stuff to do on top of regular school work.”
When it comes to college, Katie is looking forward to meeting new people, having less classes, and not waking up as early.
Katie will miss the times she shared with her friends at Badin. When asked what she would miss most about Badin, Katie said, “I’ll miss seeing all my long time friends every day since most of us will be going to different colleges. I’ll also miss school dances, dressing up for football games with my friends, and going to The Hill after.”
Katie says her favorite memory while at Badin was when her friend Sophia flipped out of her chair in homeroom.
One thing is for sure, Badin has a lot of traditions. Whether it be welcoming the freshman at the back to school dance, Spirit Olympics, or going to The Hill after football games, they are all part of being a Ram. Katie is most looking forward to the tradition of being “the seniors with the water balloons on the last day.” She can’t wait to soak some freshmen.
When asked what she would change about Badin, Katie said that she would make it bigger because “the hallways and gym during assemblies are so crowded and it’s annoying.”
A lot of people love the cafeteria food at Badin. Katie’s favorite are the French toast sticks, and she wishes they would have them more often.
