Q & A with Caroline Castrucci

  • How often do you play sports?

I lift twice a week year round, in the winter I swim 6 days a week, and I run track in the spring which is usually 6 days a week.


  • What sports do you play ?

I do swimming and track.


  • What's your biggest achievement in this sport?

Last year my 4x200m relay got 2nd at the Fairfield meet, which was a big achievement for me because there was a lot of good competition at that meet. Another big achievement in track was beating my PR for the 200m dash last year.

In swimming, my biggest achievement is Practicing at Sectionals in the 100m backstroke.


  • Best memory in this sport?

My best memory in this sport was last year when I was struggling to improve my times, and my coach gave me the advice to “run mean” and it helped me get a competitive edge over the other runners. And I was able to PR in the 200m dash.

My best memory in swim is overcoming my fear of competing in events that I don’t usually swim, like the 200IM or the 500m.


  • Earliest memory of this sport?

My earliest memory of Track is showing up on the first day not knowing many people at the time, not knowing that those people would become some of my closest friends.

My earliest memory of swim is my lane at practice sophomore year. We would get really excited when our coach let us do dolphin dives instead of something hard.
