Clay buster Haylie Jacobs has entered her second year at Badin.
Jacobs has been a clay buster for two years at Badin. However, her gun shooting did not start here.
“My dad got me into shooting guns when I was six years old,” said Jacobs.
She started shooting guns when she was younger, but because of that, she had to give things up.
“I gave up cheer, soccer and gave up other activities for shooting,” said Jacobs.
Although she gave up other things, she is happy that she did. She wants to do big things with it.
“I love clay busters. They are like a family to me. I am looking to go to college for shooting specificity and I am hoping to get a scholarship,” said Jacobs.
She loves shooting, but is not always welcomed because she is a girl.
“It’s weird being a girl that shoots, because I get weird looks. People aren’t used to girls shooting, but I like getting the looks because I am showing them that it’s not just a boys’ sport. It’s a girls’ sport too,” said Haylie.
Although she is taking criticism, she is defying what people think and is loving what she is doing.
