DECA Nationals Cancelled

DECA is a fun way for students to learn more about business, marketing and finance. Many students at Badin participate in DECA events and are very successful.

This year many students were very sad to hear that DECA nationals would be canceled after they had worked so hard all year. Several Badin seniors qualified for nationals this year which would have been their last DECA event. Senior Ben Strunk was one of many who lost his last opportunity to present at nationals.

“This is my third year in DECA and I got second place in business finance and I was very excited because this would have been my first time going to nationals,” Strunk said.

Being involved in DECA teaches students life skills that can carry with them for a long time. Being involved in DECA is very useful for any students interested in business or marketing.

“DECA has taught me a lot about presenting in front of people who are intimidating and using creative problem solving skills because you only get to prepare for 15 minutes before you present on something,” Strunk said.

For any students thinking about getting involved in DECA it is a great way to learn new things and meet new people. All you have to do is take a marketing class with Mr. McCabe.
