It is important to ensure that any website, app or extension that you are using for school is GDPR approved, this includes extensions that are being recommended to students. This page includes a list of GDPR approved Google Chrome extensions. If an extension you wish to use is not on this list, please contact IT prior to using it to ensure that you are not breaching GDPR. Below you will find a list of approved and blocked extensions.
GDPR Approved Chrome Extensions
Please be aware that all of these apps/extensions are all developed by a third party. Whilst we will always help if we can, we cannot guarantee that they will work for you.
Note that whilst on site, only extensions listed below can be installed. If you try to install an extension below and it blocks you - please restart your PC, as the list only updates for your computer upon restarting it.

Google Meet Attendance Register
Google Meet Register allows you to take attendance of the students that have attended a Google Meet.
Google Meet Timer
Google Meet Register allows you to take attendance of the students that have attended a Google Meet.
Google Meet Breakout Rooms
Google Meet Breakout Rooms allows you to set up and share break out rooms within a Google Meet.

Useful Notes:
1) Have an extension task for them to do if finished. Gives you time to speak to each group.
2) Make sure you mute the main "meet", when going into groups. Otherwise everyone can hear your small group chat! It also generates a horrendous feedback loop.
3) Using the chat function and telling students to type in then wait until instructed to submit goes really well with the whole class lesson, and then can follow up with nice in group chats. ​
Google Meet Mute All on Meet
Mute All on Meet allows you to mute all users within a Google Meet in one click.
Loom
Loom allows you to record your screen, webcam and microphone at the same time.
Night Shift
Automatically shifts the colours of your browser content to warmer end of the colour spectrum after dark
Read and Write Gold
Read and Write Gold allows you to highlight text on a website, and have the computer read it out aloud to you. You can also use this extension to leave voice notes on Google Docs and Google Sheets.

GDPR Blocked Chrome Extensions
