Dear Families,
We are wrapping up May with warm temps and a sense of momentum. This has been a month of hard work across every grade level. Students have been persevering through assessments, diving into projects, and showing up for each other in ways that have been wonderful to see. Behind the scenes, our teachers have been in deep conversations about where students are, how far they have come this year, and what comes next. It is that kind of thoughtful, ongoing reflection that makes the end of the year feel less like a finish line and more like a launching pad.
Today is the Senior Walk, and our Lower School students will line the halls and the walkway outside to celebrate our graduating seniors. It reminds us that we are a whole school community, and there is something special about watching our youngest learners cheer on students who were once just like them.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Ms. Dani
Thank you to all the parents who came to visit the 4th grade art shows! The work on display reflected such a range of mediums and artistic expression, including pieces inspired by family traditions!
Last Day of ASAs - Today is the last day of ASAs! These will start up again in the fall semester.
Medication Administration: A quick reminder that all medication, including over-the-counter items like ibuprofen or antihistamines, must be administered by our school nurse. Please do not send medication in your child's backpack. If your child needs medication during the school day, reach out to the nurses office to make a plan. More information on our health guidelines is on the ASM website.
Hot Weather = Sprinklers - During these hot days we are turning the sprinklers on and some students are love to get extra wet to cool off. If this is true for your child, we recommend sending them to school with an extra pair of clothes they can change into.
In the first workshop, we introduced several visible thinking routines for you to try out at home. In this second one, we would like to hear how you connect to your child’s thinking. We will also introduce three cultural forces to build a culture of thinking at home.
Time and Date: 8:50-9:50 am, Monday, June 8
Location: Lower School Music Room (LS building, second floor)
No pre-requisite is required.

Class placement for 2026-27 is underway, and we want to share a bit about how the process works. Our teachers and admin put a great deal of care into building balanced classes. After a full school year together, teachers know their students well: how they learn, where they thrive, how they interact socially, and what they need. That knowledge drives every placement decision. When building classes, we consider academic needs, social dynamics, behavior, languages spoken, gender, and the balance of new and returning students.
Because there are so many variables involved, we are not able to accommodate requests for specific teachers or particular classmates. We take this responsibility seriously and are grateful for the trust you place in us.
If you have any extra old sheets at home, we'd love to have them! Students use them for fort building, relaxing on the grass, and all kinds of creative play during OPAL. Thank you!
What else is Coming Up?
REMINDERS:
SIGN UP FOR OUR SUMMER CAMP IN ENGLISH --- This year’s Summer Camp will run from July 1-31. Our camp aims to immerse children in the English language in a playful, fun, and informal way through a full-immersion camp-style approach that integrates the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Campers will learn English through educational games and hands-on projects and will also enjoy plenty of structured time outdoors each day. Many of our students have an intermediate or advanced level of English; therefore, our camp is also a wonderful option for proficient English speakers.
