Dear Families,
This week across the Lower School, students continued learning both in and beyond the classroom. Our K3 students enjoyed their trip to Micropolix, while our K1-K2 class visited the Airplane Museum to extend their learning through real-world experiences. In many classrooms, teachers also took learning outside, creating opportunities for students to explore, collaborate, and stay engaged in different environments. From visual thinking routines to hands-on activities, students were actively questioning, discussing, and making connections in their learning.
Next week will be a busy and exciting one. We look forward to our music concerts, art shows, and legacy sharing events—wonderful opportunities to celebrate our students’ creativity and learning with our community.
A friendly reminder that next Wednesday is an Early Release Day for students. In the afternoon, our teachers will be participating in Soundbytes—workshops facilitated by our own staff on topics such as Data-Driven Dialogue, AI that Supports Learning, and Kid Talk to Action.
Enjoy your weekend!
Ms Dani
SIGN UP FOR OUR SUMMER CAMP IN ENGLISH
This year’s Summer Camp will run from July 1-31.
Our camp aims to immerse children in the English language in a playful, fun, and informal way through a full-immersion camp-style approach that integrates the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Campers will learn English through educational games and hands-on projects and will also enjoy plenty of structured time outdoors each day. Many of our students have an intermediate or advanced level of English; therefore, our camp is also a wonderful option for proficient English speakers.
It's heart warming to see younger children staying to play in Don Quijote after school. We advocate for all kids to have opportunities to play outdoors and explore and this space is perfect. Safety is always a priority. Adults and care-takers using the Don Quijote playscape after school please remember to follow expectations and supervise children at all times.
What else is Coming Up?
Monthly Character Strength: Responsibility
For the month of March, our character strength focus is responsibility—the ability to be dependable, make thoughtful choices, and take ownership of our actions. We’ll be highlighting responsibility in our classrooms and looking for opportunities to celebrate students who come prepared, follow through on commitments, care for shared spaces, and take responsibility for their learning and behavior. Students who demonstrate this strength will have their names entered into a drawing at our next assembly for a chance to have lunch with Ms. Dani. We invite families to talk with their children at home about how they can show responsibility in everyday moments.
