Dear families,
Welcome back and happy 2026! The students returned last week with energy and excitement, reconnecting with friends and sharing stories from their holiday break. They settled right back into classroom routines and jumped into learning with enthusiasm.
On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of having lunch with five students who were drawn for demonstrating our Character Strength of Kindness. This month, our focus shifts to empathy, and students across the Lower School are learning what it means to understand and share the feelings of others. You'll see this work reflected in their classroom discussions and activities throughout January.
Grade 2 has begun an exciting inquiry unit on Legacies, with a particular focus on family legacies. This week, students invited their families into the classroom for a Family Legacy Sharing, where they took turns presenting their family traditions, experiences, and legacies. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from each other and celebrate the diverse backgrounds that make our community so rich. This unit will extend into their Art classes, where students will share an object or artifact that represents their family culture, deepening their understanding through trans-disciplinary learning.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ms. Dani
