What to look for: Overhand throw

  1. Ball hand is going up and back behind the shoulder up by the ear.

  2. Body is facing sideways, shoulder is pointing to the target.

  3. Stepping with the foot opposite of the throwing hand.

Activities/Games for Practice:

  • Throw as hard as you can

  • Set up cones 5’ apart and see how hard they can throw

  • Throw over partner’s head

  • Throw ball at wall to bounce back and catch

  • Throw back and forth with a partner

  • Draw a picture/pick something on the wall/outside of the house to throw at and try to hit, scoot back if too easy.
