Early Years: Reception Pupils

To make the transfer from home to school easier, we gradually increase the time at which children are at school. Please see the school calendar.

We know that for the first few days you will want to see your child safely into the classroom. After this you can help him/her to enter the school by bringing them to the foundation stage entrance where they will be met by the class teacher.

At home time Reception and Nursery children are brought to the foundation stage entrance where you are invited to meet them.

Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children in the school grounds before and after school starts.

KS1 & KS2 Pupils (Years 1-6)

Key stage 1 and 2 children enter the school via the gate onto the playground and into their classrooms. Although school starts at 8.50am , we open the gate from 8.40am. We request that pupils arrive no sooner than 8.40am as there are no staff on duty before that time. All pupils are required to be at registration at 8.50am otherwise they will be marked as late.

All pupils should be collected from their classroom door. In Years 5 and 6, the children may walk home alone with proir permission. Please let the office know if your child is able to do this.

Please do not arrive at school too early, and help us to retain a quiet calm atmosphere as the children leave the school premises. Please ensure you stay on the pathways at all times and follow our Car park safety policy – a copy is available from the school office.
