Early Years - Reception Pupils

We realise that the first mornings of a child's school life can be difficult, not only for the child but for parents also. It is with mixed feelings that parents hand over their child into the care of the school. You may be sad that your child is no longer "at home" but proud to see that he or she is becoming independent. We understand those feelings and will do the best to support you and your child.

Children should arrive at the Foundation Stage door between 8.45 and 9.00am. Please ring the bell. After 9.00am children need to be taken round to the main academy reception area in order not to disturb the learning in the classroom.

At home time Reception and Nursery children are brought to the Foundation Stage entrance where you are invited to meet them.

Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children in the school grounds before and after school starts.

Key Stage 1 and 2 - Pupils

Key stage 1 and 2 children enter the school via the gate onto the playground and into their classrooms. Although school starts at 9.00am we open the gate from 8.45am to 9.00am. We request that pupils arrive no sooner than 8.45am as there are no staff on duty before that time. All pupils are required to be at registration at 9.00am otherwise they will be marked as late.

Mrs. Barden is on duty at the gate, and is able to take messages from parents to their child’s teacher. We encourage parents to use this service.

Key stage 1 (3:00pm) and Key stage 2 (3:10pm) pupils exit from the playground.

Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children in the school grounds before and after school starts.

Please do not arrive at school too early, and help us to retain a quiet calm atmosphere as the children leave the school premises. Please ensure you stay on the pathways at all times and follow our Car park safety policy – a copy is available from the school office.
