5/22/2020 Morning Message

Good Morning, St. Vincent Families,

Take a moment to pray this morning.

At the end of this school year we give thanks to God: for all the teaching and learning that has taken place in our school, both in and out of the classroom; for the talents and gifts that have been shared and the challenges that have been faced; for the burdens that have been lifted and the hurts that have been healed; for the respect and care that has been given.

We give thanks for the friendships that have just begun and for those that have grown. For the faith that has been lived in our daily struggles, for the hope that has lifted our hearts on the dark days, and for the love that has kept us going. We give thanks for the community that we are, and we ask you Lord - Bless our students: may your Spirit inspire them with confidence and calmness. Bless our families as we take to our summer break, may our time together leave us with memories to cherish. Pour out your love on us that we may return renewed and refreshed to continue our journey together. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen

This prayer hugs us right in the heart. When we started this school year we had no idea what changes we would have in the spring. The field trips, classes, recess games, friendships, and more memories through the year keep us going strong. Family support has always been very important to the success of our school. This year we had to switch up our ‘normal’ and continue the work that had to be done to ensure safety and the educational needs of our students.

There are countless people whom I owe an expression of gratitude and hope that we continue working together. We had the opportunity to continue our work with Responsive Classroom, with our Mentor Moments program, and with our 2nd Step Program. An expression of thanks goes to all the volunteers and Royal Parents who made this year even better through their caring and blessings.

Thanks to our hard working and caring faculty and staff who have made a huge difference in our students’ lives. Their commitment is outstanding and our angels are the beneficiaries. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for our students and knowing that wonder and fostering curiosity, along with the development of social skills needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, I am truly grateful.

To the beautiful souls in 5th grade, congratulations as you embark on your middle school journey. You have brought to us at St. Vincent de Paul School many memories, laughs, tears, and friendships. We are a better school because of you. Keep true to yourself and true to God.

In closing out the 2019-2020 school year, I take this opportunity to congratulate all students and families of St. Vincent de Paul School! You have succeeded in the craziness of learning through this pandemic. I wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer. Please be sure to take time with your family to talk through what we are going through in this time of pandemic. Don’t forget to READ. I look forward to seeing you in August. To those of who are leaving us for new places, we wish you all the best.

Thank you for taking the time to sign up for supply pick up and chrome book drop off on Sign Up Genius. You are welcome to also drop off your family’s chrome book from OLQH and we’ll get it there for you. Our plans are forming nicely for your special day. We will be taking the following safety precautions:

  1. Our teachers and staff will be wearing masks and gloves when they come to your car. Please stay in your car and open up your trunk/back end so that they can:

    1. Set the SV student’s basket in your vehicle

    2. Retrieve the chrome books, chargers, any library books, textbooks, or musical instruments you may have checked out.

    3. Create a hullabaloo with your family as they send you off to summer

  2. Each family vehicle will have their own special “YeeHa” group to celebrate with so that the other group can sanitize and change gloves for the next vehicle. What’s a “Yeeha” group you ask? Well, drive in your decorated car at your scheduled time and we can all “YeeHa!” together during these last moments of our 2019-2020 school year.

St. Vincent de Paul School 2020 Yearbook Video Mrs. Kleinschmidt put together our yearbook as a YouTube link. Only those with the link will be able to see it. It is beautiful. Please take time to watch the yearbook video with your family. Pray for your friends you see in the video. Also, send Mrs. Kleinschmidt a thank you for putting it together again for us.

Family Trivia Night Congratulations to the Fishers! They won dinner at Applebees last night. Thank you, Mr. Klicka for putting the games together. It was a fun time.

Peace to you and still wash your hands,

Mrs. Fochs
