Good morning St. Vincent Families,

How are you?

What do you need?

The two most important questions as we live through these days. I’m asking you so that we can go through this together as an Assumption family. Also, please remember to ask your family members that same question.

It’s okay that we are all a little off kilter during this time. Don’t expect yourself or anyone else to feel like they normally do, because your world is not functioning as it normally does.

Creating a positive community is just as important now, as it is when we are in our building.

It was so nice seeing all the names, hearts, and thumbs up signs, flying around at Fr. Becker’s Children’s Mass yesterday.

Did You Know?

The underlined items in the message each morning are links to amazing places. They are meant for you so that you have the information needed to help bridge the area between school and home. Please click on them. For practice, click on this.

Stations of the Cross

Isn’t it amazing how the Stations of the Cross match up to the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy? Through Lent, one of the Catholic traditions we participate in is the Stations of the Cross. Usually, a class would choose the version (Imprimatur) of the “Stations” and the entire school, along with any visitors, would partake. One year, it was a play. Mrs. Buntrock would play the organ, probably “Were You There”. The perfect song for the Stations of the Cross.

Since we can’t be together at this time, I put together a “Stations of the Cross” SVDP Style for you and your family. It’s a 25 minute movie version, yet you can stop and continue as you need to do so. It’s me with SV stations. As usual, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. It will be located our Resources page on the SVDP Hub, too.

Calendar

A reminder that hex 5 will end on Thursday. Our teachers are using much grace as they grade for report cards for hex 5. We are all understanding how the instruction and learning has curved in hex 5. Hex 6 will be starting when we come back to the Google Classrooms and online instruction on Wednesday 4/15. Your extended Easter holiday is from 4/10-4/14. Next week will be a three day week for students (and families).

So you would like to do Morning Announcements?

Thank you Kiley and Addie for sending in your links. Students: If you would like to send your Vocaroo (send me the link) with an introduction including your name, our pledge, an awesome prayer, and an inspirational message to our school community, that would be totally awesome. Click on this link for the template.

Virtual Spirit Week

(April 6-12) Celebrating Easter Each week, students can participate in the virtual spirit week theme by submitting their pictures and/or comments to Mrs. Leberg @ nleberg@assumptioncatholicschools.org and then she will share in the newsletter.

Participate in an Assumption Community Easter Egg Hunt - "Social distancing style"

Make a large egg (using items you already have around your home) and then put it out where it will be viewable from the road. When done, take a photo and we will post it on the Assumption Community Easter Egg Hunt Facebook event page. On Easter Sunday, ACS families can take a drive around and "hunt" for the eggs.

Song of the Day

Quite often at our after school prayer service we have music playing. Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin is one that we have played. Enjoy. If you have any you would like to share, please send it along.

Peace to you and wash your hands,

Mrs. Fochs
