4/23/2020 Morning Message

Good Morning, St. Vincent Families,

I hope you were able to spend Earth Day outside enjoying and helping our environment.

At the beginning of our journey I had sent a survey out to the families. Thank you for your feedback. We trust that any issues we could help with, have been taken care of. However, here is a check-in to just make sure things are going the way they need to be going. We care about every single one of you and will everything in our power to assist.

Math

Math progress in Accelerated Math and in Math Facts in a Flash can be seen when students use the Renaissance hosted site that can be accessed on our Assumption Catholic Schools Website (RenPlace). AM tests cannot be taken on HomeConnect. Levels in Math Facts in a Flash cannot be passed on HomeConnect. We know that students are used to working on HomeConnect when at home during the normal school year, however, we need to make the change to doing it on the hosted site.

Children’s Mass

Thank you Fr. Becker for the wonderful Children’s Mass yesterday. The parallels between our life and those within Frozen II were interesting to hear. We thought for sure you were going to sing to us again.

Fr. Becker will be celebrating Children’s Mass Wednesdays at 9:00am on the Assumption Catholic Schools Facebook Page. Please join us and send up some hearts. Youth Mass will be celebrated on Thursdays at 9:00 on the same page. It’s so important to participate in the prayer activities with your family.

Music

It is a with heavy heart that I am announcing Mr. Hetzel will no longer be with us at St. Vincent de Paul School. Mr. Hetzel had been leading our music classes for two years. The concerts he led were amazing with our students. Remember “Baby Shark” on the recorders? I know we were all excited about our spring concert this year with the Beatles theme. However, as things go through this pandemic, we can’t do it. Please pass a note of good thoughts or a card to the office and we will get the kind thoughts to him. He would definitely appreciate it. During Hex 6, General Music will not be a graded class. Students will not need to access the music Google Classroom for music assignments. Keep listening to your music, create a playlist, share some favorite songs for the morning messages each day.

Please Record for Morning Announcements

We have quite a few days left to fill in. Students, are you ready now? If you would like to send your Vocaroo (send me the link) with an introduction including your name, our pledge, an awesome prayer, and an inspirational message to our school community, that would be totally awesome. Click on this link for the template.

We are looking for pictures of your family sharing a good book this week. Please send them on to Mrs. Leberg at nleberg@assumptioncatholicschools.org.

Quite often at our after school prayer service we have music playing please enjoy The God Who Saves by Matthew West Be ready to sway along. If you have any songs you would like to share, please send it along.

Peace to you and wash your hands,

Mrs. Fochs
