Morning Message 3/30/2020

Dear Parents,

Good morning St. Vincent Families,

Welcome back from spring break. I see that many families have continued to work on the instruction through their Google Classrooms, taking AR quizzes, and passing all kinds of levels in Math Facts in a Flash.

I have created this SVDP School Hub Website that will keep information if you have found yourself drowning in emails. Please refer to it for our basic routines and assignment information. All of the links/menus that are on the one-page document given at the beginning of our journey are included on the website.

Schedules

Through the feedback I received in the survey, many have requested samples of schedules. If you could please send forth your schedules so that I could share them, that would be great.

Starting with the biggies: Prayer, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime, all the other personalized family items fit in throughout the week. Even at school we don’t have every class, every day. Please see the website for more samples that will fit your family.

Resources (click me in case you want more ideas)

This site is growing each day. Teachers are using many items, yet there may be things you would like to do with your family such as learn a new language or have a virtual play date. Also, please see the website for more resources to try out with your children.

Scholastic Books is offering a Pop-Up sale that will send the books right to your house. Our classroom code is DNX97. Ms. Koth takes care of all the book orders in the school.

As always, be aware of what your child is clicking on your device. The firewall at school is very robust and blocks inappropriate sites. Check your history. You may also want to check the amount of time spent on social media. I have had feedback on students spending too much time on the computer doing work, when the Hangouts chats are bursting with social interaction.

Attendance (click me) Remember to choose the correct date-Monday, March 30, 2020

As we do in the office each day, contact is made to the family when we are missing our precious kiddos at school. Please make sure to let us know that things are going well at your house; that your student is engaging in instruction. The teachers are on the front line of the virtual learning and will call to make sure their students are accounted for throughout the day.

Morning Announcements (click me)

This is a great time to make memories with your family. Please share any photos (appropriate of course, please be careful of what is in your background…lol) so that we can create our own SV memories. Loving the ones we have received so far!

With Every Act of Love Thank you, Stella Kuhn for suggesting this beautiful song for our morning message. Mrs. Koeshall taught her class this song last year for our after school prayer service. Enjoy.

Keep sending photos prayers the students write so we can share them in our newsletter.

Peace to you and wash your hands,

Mrs. Fochs
