German AP

Full Year / 1 Credit / Grades 10, 11, 12

Prerequisite:

A grade of C in German 5 / placement test and/or teacher consultation.

Course Description:

This intensive course is offered to students with a well-developed German background or advanced language skills in German and who wish to continue German in eleventh and twelfth grade but do not necessarily wish to take an IB German course. Students become acquainted with various literature styles of different historical and cultural contexts and develop a sense of how language is used in its various functions. Students are expected to demonstrate communicative skills in complex grammatical structures. This intensive course prepares students to take the AP or SAT II German exams or equivalently the German Proficiency exams Goethe B2 and TestDaf 4/5 outside of ACS.
