Prerequisites:

Successful completion of Chinese 3, teacher consultation and/or placement. Placement in the Honors section of this course requires: Completion of all assigned honors summer work; Teacher recommendation based on Q1 performance and grade (minimum B+ and above). Honors placement is finalized after Q1.

Course Description:

The curriculum of Chinese 4 is designed to help students strengthen their skills in reading comprehension, essay writing, and speaking. The course will focus on reading, analysis and discussion based on texts, articles, world events, music and newspapers. There also will be intensive review of grammatical patterns and essay writing skills. Students taking this course for Honors credit will be required to complete supplemental assignments and will be assessed with an Honors-level rubric.
