Waves 4 Water

Waves4Water is an organization created to provide clean drinking water to those in need. Nike and Waves4Water collaborated to bring clean water to the children of Haiti using Just Water filters. These water filters produce approximately one gallon of filtered water per hour or 15 gallons per day. This is enough water to serve the basic needs of 10 people per day. The filters will last approximately 12 months with normal use. Each filtration system costs $30.00 and consists of a filter, a spigot and two 5 gallon buckets.

HMS donated $1,590 to Waves for Water, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean water to communities around the world. The money will be used to buy 53 water filtration systems for the orphanage La Maison du Sourire in Leogane, about 18 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capitol. The orphanage houses about 50 children with no access to clean water. The filtration systems are expected to provide clean water to the kids for at least a year.
