This year students will:
− Develop basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
− Become familiar with Spanish speaking places and their culture
- Discover that learning another language can be fun!
What do they need for class? (If they repeatedly forget to bring these items to class, they may be asked to stay after school)
− binder with dividers (This binder will be randomly checked throughout the year.)
− lined paper (small amount)
− a pencil and/or a pen
− your laptop
- your headphones / earbuds
Organization of your Spanish binder– label each divider:
Proper heading for ALL papers:
Name: Class: 8A or 8B Date: (en español)
NO gum! NO food! NO drinks –except water (Come to class with a filled water bottle)
Food is an important part of a language class so students will have opportunities to try new foods on special occasions!
Assignments:
Check the board every day as well as the on-line HW calendar. If students are in school but miss class, you are responsible for the homework. This usually happens when students come late to school or because of medical appointments. All make-up work due to absence is to be completed according to school policy (see handbook). If an assignment is not completed on time, they may be asked to stay after school.
Classroom expectations:
Students learn more in a respectful environment. They will be asked to stay after school if your behavior is disruptive.
