Spanish 8 Students

The 8th grade program is the second year of a two year sequence, which allows students to complete, level I of the language at the middle school. Students who successfully complete both years may take level II at the high school. Students continue their study of the language by expanding and building on their knowledge from 7th grade. The focus of the program is to have the students use the target language to communicate about their daily lives and activities.

This class meets everyday for 45 minutes, all year long. Students use a textbook and are required to keep an organized notebook. Students will receive homework most nights as well as preparing for quizzes, tests, and projects based on the Maine State Learning Results in Interpersonal, Presentational, Interpretive, Language Comparison and Cultural Practices and Perspectives.

During the year, students will gain an insight into other cultures through readings, music, food, art and various projects. Students are encouraged to use the target language whenever possible in the class.
