This year students will:
− Develop basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
− Become familiar with French speaking places and their culture
- Discover that learning another language can be fun!
What do they need for class? (If they repeatedly forget to bring these items to class, students may be asked to stay after school)
− binder with dividers (This binder will be randomly checked throughout the year.)
− lined paper (small amount)
− a pencil and/or a pen
− their laptop
- headphones or earbuds
Organization of their French binder– label each divider:
Proper heading for ALL papers:
Name: Class: 7A or 7B Date: (en français)
NO gum! NO food! NO drinks –except water (Come to class with a filled water bottle)
Food is an important part of a language class so they will have opportunities to try new foods on special occasions!
Assignments:
Homework in posted on the white board in class every day as well as the on-line HW calendar. If students are in school but miss class, they are responsible for the homework and assessments. This often happens when students come to school late or have a medical appointment. All make-up work due to absence is to be completed according to school policy (see handbook). If an assignment is not completed on time, students may be asked to stay after school.
Classroom expectations:
Students learn more in a respectful environment. They will be asked to stay after school if their behavior is disruptive.
