'Phenomenon' and 'Change' are our concept themes for Term 4 and we couldn't be more excited! Learners will explore these concepts through a range of scientific experiments where, as well as learning about the scientific method, learners will be investigating 'The Science Behind Superheroes', physical elements and the material world, and life processes, evolution and ecology.
Learners will also be pursuing their strengths and passions in science through breakthrough projects.
Learners have been determined to use their art skills to create a collaborative piece of bubble art that will be exhibited in the new build.
Year 5 and 6 have also been developing leadership skills through designing activities based on Māori Myths and Legends to share with learners in Hub Koru.
Another collaborative opportunity was shared through learners in Hub 12 teaching Hub 2 the geology and science behind volcanoes.
Learners created volcanoes to showcase their science experiment to the younger learners.
Despite it being very messy, a good time was had by all!
Thank you for your support with home learning. We would like to remind you that there is a Home Learning event on your child’s SchoolTalk calendar to make learning tools easier to find.
There you will find resources that learners are familiar with and are used in class. Although the calendar event runs from 3:15 - 4:14 daily, there is no set expectation on how frequently these should be accessed.
Please speak with your child’s hub teachers if you would like any more tips or support with supporting your child with their learning.
