As another week of distance learning comes to an end, we would like to thank all our parents and caregivers for the wonderful job you are doing in supporting your children learning online.
We acknowledge and thank everyone for pulling together to make the most of this unique and unprecedented time.
Special appreciation and recognition to all our members of staff who have shown that they are true learners and have adapted to ensure our learners success.
Have a wonderful weekend.
This time has presented us with so much learning and a range of future opportunities. We are wanting to gather as much information as possible to sincerely understand what has worked well and what has been challenging for parents, staff and our learners. For example lots can be learnt from more deeply understanding the learning that has been most engaging from a parents, learner and staff perspective.
We believe there is much to be learnt and taken from this extraordinary time and value your voice in shaping our next steps as an organisation.
We pride ourselves on a high level of community engagement where on average ⅔ of our community engage in providing feedback. Your voice matters so together we can continue in our pursuit to ultimately ‘make stuff better for your kids’
Please take 2-3 minutes to complete this survey. Think about one of your children as you complete the survey. We encourage you to complete the survey again if your other children have had a different distance learning experience.
Thank you for the many kind emails and messages and sharing what is happening learning wise in your home. This has certainly made the team smile!. We are delighted to share with you some of the distance learning highlights, there is so much to celebrate.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 7/8 learners showcasing their agency during distance learning and placing second globally in the Education Perfect Science trivia quiz.
While children are learning from home, they are away from the online safety and security services provided by Network for Learning (N4L) at school. So together with N4L and Netsafe, The Ministry of Education has launched Switch on Safety.
Visit the website www.switchonsafety.co.nz and follow the instructions to set up your child’s device for safer connectivity while they learn from home.
Netsafe provides comprehensive support and information to support everyone to stay safe as they work, learn and play online. Netsafe has new and updated resources for parents, whānau and students.
This information is also available on the Digital Tools Section of our Distance Learning at Stonefields School 4 whānau site
