Following last night’s Government announcement, Auckland is now in Alert Level 3 lockdown for 3 days.

We are open to accommodate children of essential service workers only.

We will keep you informed of any further important information when it comes to hand.

Key Points About Alert Level 3 at Stonefields School:

Distance Learning

We have returned to distance learning commencing today, which can be accessed via SchoolTalk. We use two main links - SchoolTalk and Google Meet (Hangouts), for further information click here

We will not be distributing iPads and other devices unless we are informed that level 3 will be extended beyond this week. We will keep you updated with further information as it becomes available.

If you do not have access to a device, we have developed some further learning ideas connected to our current Local Iwi Stories learning for you to access.

Contact Tracing And Visitors Onsite

Contact tracing will commence using the Government contact tracing App. Anyone entering our site needs to be contact traced. To save yourself time please download the app if you haven’t already done so.

Any visitors after 9.00am and before 3.00pm are to report to the school office to sign in.

Additional School Activities

  • Before an after school care offered by Kelly Club has been cancelled.
  • Lewis Eady music lessons and all after school activities have been cancelled.
  • The ezLunch service (school lunches) service has been cancelled.

Further Information For Essential Worker Parents Whose Children Are Attending Onsite

Morning Drop Off And Afternoon Pick Up

  • No learners are to arrive at school earlier than 8:30am. Please enter and exit the school grounds through the main entrance door between 8.30am - 9.00am. The school day ends at 3.00pm.
  • No parents are to come onsite at drop off and pick up unless pre-arranged. Any pre-arranged entry must complete the Government contact tracing - posters are available on the hall, admin and hub windows.
  • We will have a skeleton staff on site to supervise essential workers children. Children will be in bubble groupings of up to 10 and residing in hubs 5 - 7.

Hygiene Measures

To reassure you, we had pre planned and are well stocked with hygiene and cleaning supplies. The following increased hygiene measures are now in place:

  • Staff and children are to stay home if they are sick.
  • If a child looks unwell, the parent/caregiver will be called for the child to be collected.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available and is to be used when entering and exiting the hub for any reason e.g. going to the toilet, playing outside, arriving at school.
  • Learners will be reminded to wash their hands, cough into their elbow, try not to touch their face - We will remind learners to wash their hands before eating and always after using the bathroom. We encourage you to reinforce this message as well.
  • We are strongly encouraging masks or face coverings to be worn.
  • There will be daily cleaning of surfaces and a thorough daily clean implemented in the areas used.

Areas off Limits:

  • Junior and senior playgrounds;
  • Library;
  • Sports gear and sports shed;
  • Drinking fountains will be closed;

What To Bring To School:

  • Device - iPad / Chromebook.
  • Device charger.
  • Headphones.
  • We encourage them to bring their own pencil case / stationery and resource pack if they have one.
  • Morning tea and lunch (no lunch orders or Friday Cafe will be available)
  • Drink bottle.

Optional Extras:

  • Colouring books and pencils;
  • Sketchpad;
  • Scooter;
  • Lego;
  • Toys and or dolls for junior learners;
