Term 4 Update

Kia ora whānau,

We trust this update finds you well and that you and your families have transitioned back into a more normal way of life. We have been impressed with how our learners have started this term and it's been great to see them quickly engaging with the learning.

Looking Back

What an eventful term we had in Term 3! The Stonefields exhibition was a highlight, the learners loved sharing their lockdown experiences with their whānau. Thank you for making this such a successful event, it was a lovely opportunity to connect with you all.

Term 4 Reminders

Hats

As the weather changes, we ask that all learners wear a school hat. Please make sure this is clearly labelled.

Uniform

Please remember to:

  • Label all uniform items with first and surname
  • Have learners wear black footwear
  • Have learners wear clothing appropriate for the day’s weather
  • Remind learners to bring their book bags, readers and library books

Term 4

Concept

In Term 4, we will be focussing on Change. The different hubs will be exploring changes through a variety of learning experiences in the different Junior hubs from Dinosaurs, inventions to plants and sustainability.

Te Reo Māori

We are fortunate to have Makere Stirling working alongside us once a week to teach te reo Māori. We had a taster of this in Term 3 and are pleased to say our knowledge and ability to speak te reo is growing.

Manaiakalani Film Festival.

This term, we are also looking forward to watching the films from the Manaiakalani film festival. Unlikely last year this year learners across all year 3-4 opted to participate in the creation of a Working across the hubs was fun. The learners were fully committed. new relationships formed, we saw some great collaboration and the learner really did bring their best together. A huge thank you to Sammy Weir, Hayley Hindson and Mandie Galea
