SMES Student Volunteers

At Spruce Mountain Elementary School, students not only visit the library with their class, they also help it run smoothly. Miss Wilkins has started a volunteer program for 5th graders, where they can visit during their free time and help shelve, organize, and prepare for activities.

The library circulates over 100 books on a typical day. Putting them away so they are available for others is an important job! These students help out so Miss Wilkins is free to work directly with students and teachers and plan engaging lessons. We appreciate their help!Being a library aide is a great help, but it's also FUN! Our aides enjoy their time together helping out.
