  1. What happened in Sarajevo before the Bosnian Genocide began in 1984? And how was Sarajevo viewed by the rest of the world in 1984?
  2. When did Yugoslavia come into existence?
  3. Who held Yugoslavia together during the Cold War? And how did he hold the country together?
  4. Who rose to power in the late 1980s?
  5. Who was targeted in the Bosnian Genocide?
  6. How did the world respond to this situation?
  7. How did the United States react to this situation?
  8. What do you think the political cartoon on page 21 means?
  9. How did the tide turn in Bosnia?
  10. Do you feel there is a difference between ethnic cleansing and genocide as described on page 22 of the packet? Support your answer.
