Visuals as we have discussed can explain complex ideas quickly. The saying a picture is worth a thousand words conveys this possibility.

As the website states "Maps can be a remarkably powerful tool for understanding the world and how it works, but they show only what you ask them to."

Activity Directions:

1. Look at the website "40 Maps that Explain the World" - find a map that is interesting to you.
   • You could also use a map from "70 Maps that Explain America"
2. In a Blog Post titled "40 Maps that Explain the World" include a picture of your map and provide a summary of what your visual/map shows the reader and what question was asked of the map you selected.
3. Double check - Be sure to provide the title of your map if it exists - and any key information the reader needs.
   • Bonus Questions:
     1. What is the bias of the map you selected?
     2. How persuasive was the map from your point of view? Explain why...
