IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu’s Commitment to Service

IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) is committed to serving our members and Chapters, and in continuing to represent the best ideals of our society and our shared profession. During a period of international pandemic, it is more important than ever to support each other and uphold these ideals. Please read this message offered by IEEE President Toshio Fukuda and IEEE Executive Director Stephen Welby.

The Board of Governors and staff have developed a number of resources for you as many colleges and universities have or are transitioning to online learning, and as governments around the world have asked citizens to quarantine themselves.

We see this as a time for our members, our faculty advisors and our volunteers to learn from each other and offer our expertise to our communities.

Visit our website to learn about these resources, which include:

We also are developing ways to connect our community socially through a Tetris Competition and virtual Graduation Celebrations.

Look for more information in the coming days and weeks.

These are uncertain times, but our guiding principles of scholarship, character and attitude remain steadfast. We as Board and staff members are and will continue to serve you and develop tools to enable you learn and give back to the community via online offerings.

Stay safe and be well.

Online Tutorial Focuses on PCB Design

Learn how to design a printed circuit board (PCB) in Eagle through a tutorial developed by Katelyn Brinker, IEEE-HKN Student Governor. This PCB will be an Arduino shield – a board that sandwiches with an Arduino microcontroller to provide extra functionality. The PCB will have a collection of LEDs on it that can be controlled from the Arduino.

Try your hand at designing the board by clicking here.
