New Grading Reporting
NC State University's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) is responsible for confirming that certain students have begun attendance when they earn a grade of 'F' or 'U.' In order to facilitate compliance with Title IV financial aid requirements, changes to the grade roster have been implemented that require a qualifier on the awarding 'F' or 'U' grades. For the student who was involved in the course throughout the entire semester, use the grades 'FE' (Failed Earned) or 'UE' (Unsatisfactory Earned). These are the grades for students who attempted most assignments and did not demonstrate sufficient content mastery to pass the course. For students who earned a grade of 'F' or 'U' but did not complete the course or never began attendance, please use the grades 'FQA/UQA' ('F' grade for a student who attended your course and then quit) or 'FNA/UQA' ('F' grade for a student that never attended.) When using the 'FQA' or 'UQA' grades, please also indicate if the student stopped attending before or after the 60% point.
