Once a child has been placed into an intervention program, the intervention teacher is responsible for tracking the child's progress and communicating that progress to the student, classroom teacher, student study team, and parents.
Â
If a student, as determined by his/her assessment data, shows a change to his/her current intervention programming is needed(i.e. transition out of the current program or transition into a different program), the intervention teacher will make the change and then contact the following people:
Building principal
Classroom teacher
The classroom teacher will then contact the parent.
If the change in programming falls under one or more of the following situations, or something similar, the student study team will be convened to make a decision for placement:
The intervention group that the child needs is not available because of insufficient staffing.
The intervention group that the child needs is based on very specific protocols that have already been started, and the child would need to 'catch up' with other children in the group.
The levels in the available intervention group that the child needs do not match the level of the child.
