HS (All Subjects) Assessments

In compliance with 2011 Assembly Bill 40 Act 20 and the 2013-15 biennial state budget, Wisconsin starting assessing high school students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades beginning with the 2014-2015 school year.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction entered into a partnership with ACT®, Inc. to comprehensively assess Wisconsin high school students:

PreACT Secure - 9th and 10th grade students take the ACT Aspire™ Early High School assessment every spring.

The ACT® Plus Writing - 11th grade students take he ACT Plus Writing every February. The ACT consists of four multiple-choice tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science; and a 30-minute essay test that measures writing skills. ACT Plus Writing is a paper and pencil test in Wisconsin.

WI Forward: Because the ACT does not include a social studies portion, all students in grade 10, take the WI Forward exam in the area of social studies. 

WI Civics/Citizenship Test - 10th grade students take a citizenship test during their 10th grade government class.
