An added entry will be assigned for each college and entered in OCLC as 710 20.
This added entry will bring all FAU theses together in the public catalogs by college and degree level.

Search Aleph SB for the title. You will find 2 records in the index, monographic record and the e-resource record from ProQuest.
In the monographic record, copy the OCLC # and paste into OCLC line search
Click on “Edit” – “Derive” – “New Master Record” – Yes
In the fixed fields, “FORM” select “O” from the drop down menu; “DESC” select “i”

100 field – add comma after author and add $e author.
NOTE: No call # is necessary for E-Resource records

Add 655_4 Electronic Thesis or Dissertation
Go to “Cataloging” – “Search” – “Online Constant Data” – Okay
From the listing choose college and degree 710, then “Apply Selected
In OCLC edit the 710 field for the year of publication of the original Thesis.
Once again, Go to “Cataloging” – “Search” – “Online Constant Data” – Okay From the listing choose RDA ETD 856, then “Apply Selected”
Copy the Purl from the correct Author and Call # and paste over the current URL in the 856 field, $u
Validate Record
Produce
In OCLC edit 049 field to show FGME and EXPORT to Aleph SB
In Aleph SB, check the record and in Web OPAC (Cntrl O) check that the URL connects to the digitized Thesis.
Make note of the Aleph SB System number, for use in statistics.
Count Cataloging E-Resource statistics
Once electronic cataloging procedures have been completed, place hard bound copies of Theses on the designated truck for withdrawal.
