Oxford University Press, also know as University Scholarship Press Online, is a collection of university and scholastic presses from which we receive eBooks and eJournals. Titles are selected and we usually receive notices of access for these titles. The vendor also provides a tool for us to download all MARC records for titles to which we're entitled. We currently maintain inventory on these titles by using the vendor records.
Titles are maintained by using vendor records for eBooks. MARC 035 values will be similar to this, "(StDuBDS)EDZ0000172416" Additional tickler information can be found in the readme.txt file at:
Z:\GenLoad\Oxford Scholarship Online\ReadMe.txt
Oxford Handbooks online MARC records may be accessed at: http://www.oxfordhandbooks.com/page/marc-records
Titles may be found at this website: http://www.universitypressscholarship.com/page/subscriber-services
Login doesn't seem to be necessary so it must work off FAU's IP address. Each quarter, we should download all MARC files and ensure that we have these titles. We should also make sure that none of our held titles have been withdrawn - although perpetual access should be confirmed with acquisitions prior to any withdrawals.
Once downloaded, text data can be extracted from the MARC record and saved (prefixed by YYYYMMDD) in "Z:\GenLoad\Oxford Scholarship Online\Quarterly Maintenance" using the oup_output_settings.txt file (with MarcEdit).
Data can then be imported into the new tab in the OUP_Quarterly_Comparison.xlsx file and any "True" results in either tab should be reviewed.
Please note that Bibs are kept on the "Old" tab so any added rows should include the added Bib.
There may be a handful of #N/A Bibs due to some discrepancies between what OUP tells us we're entitled to and what the MARC record tool tells us we're entitled to.
A handful of the OUP eBook titles are open access. These are flagged with their ticklers - see the readme.txt file.
