Item-11 Notes

Item-11 is a useful Aleph service for removing records with items attached to it. For example, if you have a set of records that have been loaded with items and now the entire set can be retrieved and removed, this service will work better than a manage-33.

1. Start with your set of bib records loaded to Alephe/scratch

2. run a manage-70 in the FAU50 library to retrieve just the FAU items for the input file.

3. load the output file to alephe/scratch (using the load set mechanism in Aleph under find).

4. Use the output of the of the manage-70 as the input to an item-11 to remove the file. Run first without updating the database to review. Then, if there are no issues, run again to actually update the database.
