Overview

Files are updated on an ongoing basis. Emails will be sent to LYTSUpdates@fau.edu when they’re available on the website. We need to go and capture the MARC records, verify access, and upload the records after improving them.

Login and MARC Retrieval

When the email is received, you won’t need to log in. If you do, serial solutions does keep a record for Morgan & Claypool and access can be retrieved from there.

The link to the MARC records are also included in the email based on the database being provided. The link is also here:

Find the records associated with the update and download them before loading them into MarcEdit.

MARC Cleanup

Typical updates may be performed by using the MarcEdit tasks. These will include the usual variations. No abnormal updates are needed. Be sure to also set FGM holdings through MarcEdit.

Genload

Using the FAU-MORGCLAY-REV profile in GenLoad:

Under New Tags-->HOL Record, verify TKRs as follows:

• • |a(FBoU)%f%d (this is the standard tag and probably won’t need to be updated)

  • |a(FBoU)Morgan & Claypool Synthesis Collection 7 %d (or 6, depending on the collection number)

Under Load Options-->Tag Flips, the OCLC Number should be flipped to the 599 field, and under Matching-->Match Search Order, the Tag Text field in the 035 tag should be blank.
