Use a magnet to find iron particles in sand in a plastic bag
Using Iron Filings To Make an Art Game
In this STEAM activity, students use iron filings to make a magnetic picture.
Exploring Magnetic Lines of Force
Using magnets, a clear plastic and some iron filings, explore the nature of magnetic lines of force.
In this experiment students create magnets that are suspended in air and then test to see if invisible lines of force can penetrate various materials.
Build a magnet levitation pencil using two magnets and a simple stand.
