Have you signed up for a FireCloud 101 workshop? That's great, we look forward to seeing you there and helping you get started with the platform! In order to make the best use of our time together, it's very important that you follow these three simple steps before the day of the workshop.
Please note that these instructions are for users whose organization/lab/PI already has a billing account and one or more projects already set up. If you need to set up your own billing account and/or projects, follow these instructions. You can learn more about billing accounts and projects here.
1. Register for a FireCloud account if you don't already have one.
2. Check that you have a billing project set up
Go to the Billing page to check that your lab has at least one billing project set up and that your user account has been added to it. This is what the Billing page looks like:
If there are no projects listed, ask your PI to follow these instructions to add you, or create one yourself if you have Owner status on a billing account.
If there are several listed, find out which you should use when cloning or creating new workspaces (your PI or their administrative assistant should know). This will determine which project will get charged for any storage and compute costs incurred by work done in those workspaces.
3. Check that you can access the demo workspace called FireCloud101-Basics
This is what the demo workspace landing page like:
If you can't access it (i.e. you get an error message of some kind), please email us at dsde-comms@broadinstitute.org with a screenshot of the error message.
That's it! See you at the workshop!
