For the session on Queue. Do you need to be familiar with writing java or scala code in order to attend (especially for the hands on)?
From Geraldine_VdAuwera on 2013-09-19
For the Queue session, you need to be familiar with some kind of scripting language. The material will be presented so as to make it accessible even if you have never seen a line of Java or scala in your life, as long as you know scripting basics.
To clarify re: the hands-on session, that is mostly a beginner’s intro to running GATK best practices, we won’t cover any of the Queue material in the hands-on. Sorry if that wasn’t clear in the description.
