October 2020 Lesson #1: EMPATHY

This lesson is for the counseling classroom from October 5th through October 16th
Hey friends!
We have just finished up our first month of counseling lessons and it is time for our second character word of the month! The character word for the month of October is EMPATHY.
EMPATHY means you pay attention to how others are feeling and try to understand them...it also means caring for others. If your heart feels sad when someone you care about is feeling sad, then that means you are having EMPATHY for them because you are caring about their feelings.
There are lots of ways to care for others and show EMPATHY. To introduce EMPATHY to us we are going to learn about a teacher and nurse named Clara Barton. She always cared for everyone around her. Click on the link below to watch the video lesson:
