Law & Bioethics

Grades: 11 & 12 1 semester Code: 04166 1 credit

Law & Bioethics: Do you have the right to choose when you die? To choose if people can use your stem cells? To do what you want in your own home? To use people as test subjects in experiments? This course will have students challenge their preconceived notions of human rights. Students will frequently engage in discussions at the cross roads of the moral and ethical good vs. the legal right. We will examine cases such as the first cloned sheep, stem cell research, the right to privacy, freedom of expression, etc.

It is encouraged that students take government prior to taking this course, but it is not required.
