As you plan for fall conferences, strive to include some effective teaching principles that will make your conference a memorable one.
Real environment—Do your best to relate the content to real life. Enrich what you teach with real world examples and Bible stories. Is it rich with meaning, a lot of action and interaction, color and excitement? A true live event imitates real life.
Relevance—The brain recalls what has relevance or meaning because of emotional attachments. People get excited when they relate what you are saying to a similar experience they have had. They see how the biblical truth applies to them. They will pay close attention and be enthusiastic about what you say when it has relevance.
Multisensory—A live event involves all the senses: sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. Do what you can to involve all the senses and allow people to move around frequently.
