One of the greatest assets in any training environment is the people who are being trained. Good trainers know how to capitalize on people who have strong interpersonal skills. Early on in any training session, identify the people who are the social butterflies. You will find that they are cooperative team players and that they understand the feelings of others. Try to assign them the role of small group facilitator and they will contribute much to inviting the involvement of others. Rather than being driven solely by content and information, try to use the needs of people to interact with one another. They will be engaged, participation will increase, all the participants will get more from the training session, and in the end, a good time will be had by all!
