“Work in your area of strength” is a great motto these days. However, it also leads to the question of who is picking up the number of things you need to do but drag your feet on because it’s not in YOUR area of strength. This is a great opportunity for you to look around you and begin to pray for others who have the strengths you lack. Consider the following:
List the top three things you truly enjoy doing as a missionary. For example, Crystal Reports, Planning AMC and Commander College conferences.
Identify those things that are difficult for you or don’t come as naturally. For example, club visits, returning phone calls and new church presentations.
Begin to pray for like-minded Christ-followers who naturally care for others in ways that are difficult for you.
Identify and invite possible candidates with you when you are doing a club visit or presenting at a church. Ask them to give you feedback and how they would handle it. Remember, people want REAL responsibility in ministry.
Delegate slowly, meeting and praying together often.
Bring people together who are on our ministry team – in season and off. Celebrate your differences!
